Taking place in the beautiful Mall Gardens in the heart of Clifton Village, this is outdoor cinema with a twist. Relax in the Central Arena before the film, with drinks, displays, tastings and local food vendors, then make your way into one our two cinema spaces for the main event. With covered seating, a state-of-the-art LED screen and wireless headphones, enjoy your film come rain or shine - it's a Summer experience that’s not to be missed.
Thursday sees our ‘Bristol In Focus’ event in the Mall Gardens. As the name suggests, this day focuses on films that were either made in the city, feature actors associated with the city, or were written, produced or directed by Bristolians.
In addition, throughout the day we will be hosting a summer gifts fair, promoting small and independent Bristol-based producers. Arrive early and explore!
Our second film in the Lexus Pavilion is the film noir classic The Third Man. Joseph Cotton and Orson Welles lead this murky drama that winds through the streets and sewers of post-WWII Vienna (filmed almost entirely on location), but Trevor Howard steals every scene as the irritable Major Calloway, who becomes embroiled in the conspiracy surrounding the death of an American in suspicious circumstances.
Howard was educated at Clifton College, just down the road from The Mall Gardens, and there is a plaque in his honour on the nearby Redgrave Theatre. He called The Third Man his proudest achievement in a long and diverse career spanning over 100 films – so it feels fitting to include this seminal piece of British cinema history in our Bristol In Focus lineup.Your ticket includes:

The Mall Gardens is located in the centre of Clifton Village, just off The Mall.
The main entrance to the venue is on West Mall (what.3.words ///woke.bucket.loves)
Buses 8 & 9 both stop in Clifton Village, a short walk from the venue. The nearest train station is Clifton Down, which a 20-25 minute walk from the venue.
There are numerous bicycle racks in Clifton Village and the area is within the WESTscoot e-scooter operating zone.
Parking in Clifton Village is limited and subject to restrictions.
Wherever possible, we encourage walking or the use of public transport when travelling to our events.

The Mall Gardens Clifton has level access via the West Mall entrance. .
Whilst the site is flat, some areas may be uneven, or have grass or matting underfoot.
