In Partnership with Fowlers Bristol

Someday it was inevitable that a great film would come along, utilising the motorcycle genre, the same way the great Westerns suddenly made everyone realize they were a legitimate American art form. ‘Easy Rider’ is the picture

DOORS: 18:00 | FILM STARTS 19:00

We’re very excited to announce a very special collaboration between Bristol Film Festival and Fowlers of Bristol, the legendary motorcycle dealership. We’re celebrating our 10th anniversary in 2026, but Fowlers are celebrating their centenary year as a local, family-run business - so a screening in their flagship showroom feels like the perfect partnership!

We’ll be bringing the Oscar-nominated seminal cult favourite Easy Rider to Fowlers this April. Starring Dennis Hopper, Peter Fonda and a young Jack Nicholson, and with an era-defining soundtrack, this epic road movie helped kickstart the hugely influential New Hollywood movement, captures the spirit of late 60s counterculture like few other films, and has been described as “the touchstone for a generation.” It’s also one of the greatest biker films ever made, featuring numerous motorbikes including the famous Harley-Davidson choppers, so there are few films more fitting for this venue!

Before the film, enjoy the opportunity to browse one of Europe’s largest motorcycle stores and complete our ‘Movies & Motorcycles’ quiz; there’ll be a cash bar and cinema snacks onsite too. Then take your seat and enjoy this iconic classic back on the big screen - whether you’re Born To Be Wild or a BAMBI, an L-plater or a lifelong devotee, it’s sure to be a fantastic evening!

About The Film

1969 | 18 | 95 mins

Wyatt and Billy set out on a cross-country motorcycle trip in search of freedom on their own terms. As they drift through deserts, small towns, and counterculture enclaves, their quest for the American Dream introduces them to unexpected companions - and dangerous enemies - on a generation-defining road trip.

About The Location

The biker's ultimate destination dealership since 1926, Fowlers started life way back in 1926 when Frank and Alice Fowler first opened their cycle shop. A few months after it was founded, Harold Fowler joined his parents, introducing motorcycles (which were his passion!) into the business and beginning a family dynasty which continues to this day. A much-respected industry figure, Harold - better known as Harry - worked 6 days a week right up to his death in August 2006, aged 94. The dynasty is maintained with Harry’s daughter, Stephanie, who is now joint Managing Director, and his grand-daughter, Sasha, who is Fowlers’ Wholesale & Marketing Manager.

Although Fowlers is one of the longest established businesses in motorcycling, it is far from rooted in the past. Today, the company is a multi-franchise dealership selling, servicing and repairing new and used motorcycles and scooters as well as retailing clothing, helmets, accessories and spare parts. A separate division of the company is a trade-only distribution business, which all adds up to a multi-million pound company - a far cry from the embryo business established a century ago. The cutting-edge, dream dealership - with its flagship store offering possibly the largest choice in Europe - seems a very fitting way to take Fowlers’ vision to the next generation.
