“Every line, every ‘gag’, is a little masterpiece of wit”
DOORS: 18:00 | FILM STARTS 19:00
Vintage Screenings pair classic films with thematically linked wine tastings to create unique evenings in the stunning setting of Averys Wine Merchants’ historic wine cellar. Following a sparkling wine reception, the film will be accompanied by a tasting of three carefully selected wines courtesy of Averys’ resident experts, guiding you through them at stages during the film.
Join us for Passport To Pimlico, which affectionately lampoons blitz spirit and bureaucracy gone mad in post-war London.Due to the importance of Burgundy in the plot, we’ll be tasting wines made from the two key grapes from the region: Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
Your ticket includes:
A sparkling wine reception
A hosted wine tasting featuring Burgundy classics
Introduction to the film from Festival Director
Post-screening supper from Yakinori Japanese kitchen
This Vintage Screening is hosted in collaboration with a number of our Property Partners. From 18:00-18:45 come along for an optional networking session, meet industry experts and discover more about their services. For more information, please contact us.
Please note that Vintage Screenings are strictly for over-18s only
About The Film

When an unexploded WWII bomb accidentally detonates, it unearths a cellar containing ancient proof that the London district of Pimlico is legally part of the Duchy of Burgundy – which makes it exempt from British law, including rationing and pub closing hours…!

About The Location
Averys began in 1793 and over the years, the family has built its reputation as one of the UK’s most pioneering wine merchants. Their historic wine cellar can be found beneath their shop on Culver Street, and is an atmospheric and intimate setting for our Vintage Screenings.
