Let the people sing! BLOC present a special production of Les Misérables
We were delighted to collaborate with BLOC Productions (formerly Bristol Light Operatic Club) last March, who entertained the audience in the interval of our recent screening of Les Misérables at St George’s Bristol, with talented local performers singing medley of songs from the show.
You too can see them perform, as they produce the acclaimed stage version of the show at the Bristol Hippodrome in August, as part of the iconic musical’s 40th Anniversary celebrations! BLOC has enjoyed producing high quality musical theatre at the Hippodrome for many decades.
BLOC is one of just eleven non-professional musical theatre clubs around the country to have been invited by Cameron Mackintosh and Musical Theatre International (MTI) to stage our own UK amateur premieres of the show, in collaboration with other local clubs.
Although by design not a West End replica, audiences in Bristol will be treated to all the drama and emotion you would expect from Les Misérables, delivered by a large and hugely talented cast and supported by a full-scale orchestra.
Come along to support the very best of our region’s non-professional talent. The show was cast following the open auditioning of over 600 people who applied for the chance of a lifetime to perform in Les Misérables. The show runs from 13th – 16th August with matinee and evening performances each day. It promises to be a very special production – one not to be missed!
