DOORS 21:45 | FILM STARTS 22:00

It’s back… This Halloween, we’ll be celebrating the 10th anniversary of our infamous Horror In The Caves series, screening a range of classic and contemporary horror films, from old favourites to first-time Festival appearances, including a day dedicated to folk horror! Enter through a hole in the wall on Redcliffe Wharf, grab a drink from our pop-up bar to steel your nerves, and step foot inside one of Bristol’s most unusual and exclusive locations for another season of classic and contemporary horror movies. We look forward to welcoming you – if you’re brave enough…

Our day of folk horror at Redcliffe Caves concludes with the modern masterpiece Midsommar, Ari Aster’s infamous follow-up to Hereditary. It’s hard to watch but hard to tear your eyes away from, deftly blending captivating cult rituals with stabs of brutal violence, and proving that sometimes the most horrifying events can unfold under the beating summer sun rather than the depths of night…

Please note: Redcliffe Caves is a unique event space - we strongly recommend all guests read the ‘Venue & Event Information’ tab at this bottom of this page prior to booking.

About The Film

2019 | 18 | 141 mins

After a devastating family tragedy, student Dani travels with her friends to a remote area of Sweden, in order to witness their friend’s ancestral commune celebrate a midsummer festival that only occurs every 90 years. However, the seemingly idyllic village soon reveals itself to be far more sinister than Dani could ever have imagined.

Contains strong gory images, drug use, strong language, suicide

About The Location

Redcliffe Caves are one of the most fascinating locations in Bristol. Originally created to mine sandstone for glass in the 17th Century, these caves (technically a quarry!) have a rich and varied history, having been used by hermits, prisoners of war, and even as an air raid shelter. Now, they are accessed through a gate on the Harbourside, and are usually closed to the public - Bristol Film Festival hosts its annual Horror In The Caves cinema season inside the Caves every October, and are delighted to be launching this inaugural weekend of tours to allow more people to visit this incredible space.
