Thursday sees our ‘Bristol In Focus’ event in the Mall Gardens. As the name suggests, this day focuses on films that were either made in the city, feature actors associated with the city, or were written, produced or directed by Bristolians.
In addition, throughout the day we will be hosting a summer gifts fair, promoting small and independent Bristol-based producers. Arrive early and explore!
As part of our Bristol In Focus programme, we’re delighted to be bringing the hilarious action satire (and firm Festival favourite) Hot Fuzz back to Clifton Summer Screenings this July after a sellout screening back in 2023. Filmed locally in writer/director Edgar Wright’s childhood hometown of Wells, this brilliantly lampoons every beat in the long list of 'buddy cop' movie tropes.
Take the Somerset setting and add Bristol University alumnus Simon Pegg, Bristol Old Vic Theatre School alumna Olivia Colman, and native Bristolians Bill Bailey and Stephen Merchant to the cast, and you’ve got the finest (and quite possibly the only) West Country blockbuster ever made! The Mall Gardens is located in the centre of Clifton Village, just off The Mall.
The main entrance to the venue is on West Mall (what.3.words ///woke.bucket.loves)
Buses 8 & 9 both stop in Clifton Village, a short walk from the venue. The nearest train station is Clifton Down, which a 20-25 minute walk from the venue.
There are numerous bicycle racks in Clifton Village and the area is within the WESTscoot e-scooter operating zone.
Parking in Clifton Village is limited and subject to restrictions.
Wherever possible, we encourage walking or the use of public transport when travelling to our events.

The Mall Gardens Clifton has level access via the West Mall entrance. .
Whilst the site is flat, some areas may be uneven, or have grass or matting underfoot.
