SHAUN OF THE DEAD at Wiper & True Taproom

  • Wiper and True Brewery & Taproom Unit 11, City Business Park Bristol, England, BS5 0SP United Kingdom (map)
‘Shaun of the Dead’ is an unexpected double joy: an unmissable English movie about the undead which is far from braindead and, simultaneously, a beautifully observed, very funny comedy
— Philip Horne (Daily Telegraph)

DOORS: 18:30 | FILM STARTS 19:00

We’re partnering with our friends at Wiper and True throughout 2025 for a series of cult comedy screenings. Head to this award-winning local brewery’s taproom in Old Market and enjoy a free welcome pint from their draught range upon arrival, including delicious alcohol-free versions of their famous Kaleidoscope pale ale and Tomorrow lager. The taproom is open after the film ends.

We’ve got two Halloween-themed screenings coming to Wiper & True this October, starting with the ‘rom-zom-com’ Shaun Of The Dead. Simon Pegg & Edgar Wright’s first feature film collaboration is a loving parody tribute to George A. Romero and the zombie genre, whilst standing on its own two shuffling feet as a bloody entertaining comedy-horror - and since the protagonists’ plan involves holing up in their local pub, where better to screen it this Halloween than a brewery…?

NB: this screening will be subtitled

Please note that this event is strictly for over-18s only

About The Film

2004 | 15 | 99 mins

Shaun is stuck in a dead-end job, slowly ruining his relationship with his girlfriend Liz, and spending too much time getting drunk with his slovenly best pal Ed. However, when the capital is struck by a terrifying outbreak of the living dead roaming the streets in search of human flesh, Shaun is forced to rise to the occasion.

Contains very strong language, strong bloody horror

About The Location

The Taproom, Old Market, is a destination venue for beer lovers.

Super-fresh beer, expertly served by Wiper & True’s highly trained team. Sweeping, expansive views onto monolithic, gleaming silver fermentation vessels. A vast beer garden replete with gently swaying grasses, towering floral spires and gently rustling trees. More plants than you can shake a stick at. All this and more are waiting for those in the know on a small industrial estate sandwiched between Old Market and Easton.

Ploughman's Platters

Indulge during your screening with a delicious ploughman’s platter from our friends at local supplier L'Affinage Du Fromage. Each platter contains:

  • 150g Pitchfork Ceddar

  • 20g Netherend Cornish sea salt butter

  • 1/4 Sourdough Baguette
