“If we choose one piece of culture ephemera to beam into space to let aliens know we’re here, let it be this. The universe is filled with weirdos lost in time, lost in space, but through Rocky Horror perhaps we can find one another”
DOORS: 21:30 | FILM STARTS 21:50
We’re heading to The Station this October for a screening of the film that defines ‘cult classic’! It’s just not Halloween unless we’ve hosted our annual screening of the global sensation, but this year is all the more special: The Rocky Horror Picture Show is turning 50!!
After months of waiting on licensing, rights wrangling, and thinking that we wouldn’t get to screen it after all, we’ve finally been granted kind permission to host a screening to celebrate this momentous milestone. If you’ve never seen Rocky Horror - well, you’re officially half a century late to the party, so time to rectify that! And of course, if you’ve seen it, then you’ll know all about the dress code, the audience participation, and why you should always stay until the end of the credits…
What else to say - need we ask whether you’re shivering with antici –
– pation?

Science Fiction Double Feature
Feeling in the mood for a double bill of cult classics? Still stuck in your Hot Topic phase? At 6:30pm on Friday 17th, at the same venue, we’re hosting a screening of the original Twilight film - and if you book Rocky Horror then you’ll receive an exclusive 20% discount code for Twilight in your Rocky confirmation email!
We want to see your best fancy dress, with prizes for the best getup. We want to hear you yell “THIS IS THE SKIN OF A KILLER, BELLA” in perfect synchronisation. And whether you professed to enjoying it ironically, or were 100% committed to the saga’s Team Edward v Team Jacob debate*, we want you to relive that very specific moment in the early noughties where “You’re like my own personal brand of heroin” was, like, a totally romantic thing to say.
We’ll bring the pop-up bar, thumping emo soundtrack and terrible vampire puns - you bring your peak millennial energy, and we’ll all leave worrying about being cool at home for the night.
Hold on tight, spider monkeys - we’ll see you in October…
[*Before you ask, we’re staying firmly on Team Switzerland – Ed.]
About The Venue
The Station occupies the site of Bristol City Centre’s old fire station, which was constructed in 1928 and remained in active use until 1973, when it was relocated to Temple Back. After numerous uses over the years, it is now occupied and managed by Creative Youth Network, a Bristol-based charity; they use the historic building as a Central Youth Hub, open to all young people and offering a place for them to relax, get advice and support, and explore their interests and talents.
The Station has hosted numerous Bristol Film Festival screenings over the years, including films with beer tastings, cult comedy classics, and more.
