Thursday sees our ‘Bristol In Focus’ event in the Mall Gardens. As the name suggests, this day focuses on films that were either made in the city, feature actors associated with the city, or were written, produced or directed by Bristolians.
In addition, throughout the day we will be hosting a summer gifts fair, promoting small and independent Bristol-based producers. Arrive early and explore!
Our Bristol In Focus programming in the Lexus Pavilion concludes with a screening of Richard Curtis’ hilarious BAFTA-nominated hit Notting Hill. The beloved romcom was directed by the late Roger Michell, who was educated at Clifton College, where he first began writing and directing short plays long before his award-winning career.
Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts shine in this heartwarming tale of unlikely romance, backed up by an ensemble cast of British talent (including a scene-stealing Rhys Ifans) – and since one of the film’s iconic scenes involves an after-hours visit to the local park, we can’t think of a more appropriate setting for this screening than The Mall Gardens.

The Mall Gardens is located in the centre of Clifton Village, just off The Mall.
The main entrance to the venue is on West Mall (what.3.words ///woke.bucket.loves)
Buses 8 & 9 both stop in Clifton Village, a short walk from the venue. The nearest train station is Clifton Down, which a 20-25 minute walk from the venue.
There are numerous bicycle racks in Clifton Village and the area is within the WESTscoot e-scooter operating zone.
Parking in Clifton Village is limited and subject to restrictions.
Wherever possible, we encourage walking or the use of public transport when travelling to our events.

Whilst the site is flat, some areas may be uneven, or have grass or matting underfoot.
