In Partnership with Avon Gorge by Hotel Du Vin & Bristol Jazz Festival
“It’s a perfect blend of homage to classic Hollywood musicals, while injecting modern filmmaking and emotion. It’s a beautiful story that evokes ideas that we can all relate with”
DOORS: 17:45 | FILM STARTS 18:10
We’re delighted to present the inaugural Jazz At The Movies event, in partnership with Bristol Jazz Festival. We’ll be celebrating the longstanding relationship between jazz and the silver screen, showing films from across the decades with some live music to start the evening alongside introductory talks on the connections between the music and the movie.
Join us for a memorable evening within the luxurious Aquam Bibe rooms at the Hotel du Vin Avon Gorge for the dazzling modern classic La La Land. Bursting with colour, charm and bittersweet romance, Damien Chazelle’s love letter to dreamers and the city of stars is the ultimate crowd-pleaser - get swept away by the irresistible chemistry of Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling - with an Oscar-winning score and songs by Justin Hurwitz.
The screening will be introduced with a talk from Bristol Film Festival director Owen Franklin and Bristol-based pianist and composer James Graham.
