September 2026 at the Planetarium is focusing on Moon missions and the Space Race, and Saturday’s first screening is the remarkable biopic Hidden Figures, which shines a light on female African-American scientists’ immeasurable contribution to the Space Race. This Oscar-nominated film turns 10 this year, and we’re looking forward to bringing it back to the Planetarium!
About The Film

In 1961, three African-American women – Katherine Johnson, Mary Jackson and Dorothy Vaughan – are working at NASA, against the backdrop of the Space Race. Discriminated against because of their race and gender, the trio and their unit nevertheless play a crucial role in a project to send an astronaut called John Glenn into orbit around the earth.

Getting Here
When you arrive at We The Curious, please go to the side entrance of the building, directly behind the Planetarium sphere in Millenium Square, not We The Curious' main entrance. The what3words reference is fonts.frost.couches
Millennium Square Car Park is a safe and secure 24hr car park adjacent to We The Curious. Named by the AA as one of the best places in the UK to park your car, it is an underground car park, open 24 hours a day with on site security.
We The Curious is close to many city centre bus stops. The closest train station is Bristol Temple Meads.
Wherever possible, we encourage walking or using public transport to travel to our events.
Accessibility
The Planetarium is accessed via the entrance on Millennium Square. There is lift access from this point to the Planetarium itself, with level access in the Space Gallery.
If you require a wheelchair space in the Planetarium, please contact us in advance as spaces are limited.
If you are attending an event as a carer for a disabled guest, then you are entitled to free access. Please select the relevant ticket and bring appropriate proof of eligibility such as proof of blue badge, access card, cinema for all card, letter from a professional or evidence of DLA/PIP. Can I buy food/drink at the venue? Yes - the Planetarium will be running an onsite pop-up bar with a range of drinks and limited snacks.
When is the star show? Immediately prior to your screening, there will be a brief star show in the Planetarium. This will take place at the ‘Film Start’ time above, i.e. 15 minutes after doors, directly before the main film. Approximate event end times include this star show.

Is my ticket refundable? As per our policy update on 14th January 2026, tickets will only be refundable if ticket insurance was added at the point of purchase. If you are a Red Carpet Club member, tickets are refundable up to 5 working days before your event, and exchangeable for credit for up to 24 hours before your event.
