“Possibly the most ‘British’ modern film commited to celluloid. Luckily, it is also funny, agreeably sweet and exceptionally well acted and directed”
DOORS: 17:30 | FILM STARTS: 18:15
We’re delighted to present this special partnership event between Bristol Film Festival, Belmont Estate and Woodchester Valley Vineyard.
Join us at Belmont’s historic Carriage House for an evening to celebrate the approach of summer, with a screening of the seminal British romcom Four Weddings And A Funeral. Richard Curtis and Mike Newell’s Oscar-nominated classic is one of the wittiest and warmest British comedies of the past 50 years, and remains as laugh-out-loud funny as it was over 30 years ago.
This film will be accompanied by a guided tasting courtesy of Woodchester Valley, exploring some of their award-winning range from their Cotswolds-based winery. Following a pre-film welcome drink and screening, there will be a bowl food supper with all ingredients sourced directly from Belmont Estate. Local food, local wine and a quintessentially British comedy: it’s the perfect way to toast the days getting longer.
Your ticket includes:
welcome glass of sparkling wine
flight of three wines to taste during the film
post-film bowl food meal courtesy of Belmont Estate
a glass of wine (or alternative) with the meal
a screening of Four Weddings And A Funeral with intro talk, guided wine tasting notes and extra trivia
Please note that Vintage Screenings are strictly for over-18s only

About The Wine
Established in 2007, Woodchester Valley is a family owned boutique vineyard and winery in the South Cotswolds producing white, rosé, red and sparkling wines from 58 acres.
We grow a selection of grape varieties, spread across our three vineyards. The three sites have different soil profiles although are all predominantly limestone. Our Woodchester and Amberley sites are typical of Cotswold brash - shallow soils with a high stone content overlying Oolitic limestone, particularly favourable for our Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vines. These soils are very free-draining. Our Stonehouse site has a higher clay content and deeper soils well-suited for our Bacchus vines. At all sites, our vines are planted on slopes which are more than gentle but fall short of sheer and face South, East and South-West.
As a vineyard, we’ve always had a close connection with the land we work on, considering the impact our Vineyard and Winery have on both our local environment and on the environment on a broader scale. In December we were delighted to have been recognised as a Sustainable business by receiving accreditation to the Sustainable Wines of Great Britain (SWGB) Scheme. In order to receive and maintain our membership we are committed to a cycle of review, adapt, improve. Every year we look at ways we can optimise and reduce the impact of our actions in the vineyard and winery.
Much of the work we do in our Vineyards is by hand, reducing diesel emissions and soil compaction from tractor use. When we do use our tractors, we plan our work to reduce the amount of times we pass over the ground and carry out multiple jobs simultaneously when possible. In our winery we record all energy and water usage data, seek to reduce these as much as possible and initiate working practices to help us achieve these goals.
About The Location
Belmont is a regenerative business on a mission to inspire behavioural change to address the climate and biodiversity crises.
From its 18th-century origins to the impact-driven organisation it is today, Belmont Estate has a 250-year history of restoration and reconnection. To maximise opportunities for national impact, the business has grown further than the original estate boundaries.
At Belmont, environmental restoration, sustainable food production, climate action and the reconnection of people to nature, food and one another underpin all that we do. From rewilding and rewetting the landscapes, restoring peatlands, replanting native woodlands to organic regenerative farming and free nature connection programme. Our vision is a regenerative and reconnected world where planet and people thrive together, and it’s this hope that drives us. To tackle the climate and biodiversity crises, we urgently need nature restoration at scale. As custodians of the land, we believe we can be a facilitator of that change, bringing communities and businesses together to reconnect with nature and inspire them to help safeguard our natural world.
