BRIDGET JONES’S DIARY at Averys Wine Cellars

  • Averys Wine Merchants 9 Culver Street Bristol, England, BS1 5LD United Kingdom (map)
Glory be, they didn’t muck it up. ‘Bridget Jones’s Diary’, a beloved book about a heroine both lovable and human, has been made against all odds into a funny and charming movie that understands the charm of the original, and preserves it
— Roger Ebert

DOORS: 18:45 | FILM STARTS 19:00

Vintage Screenings pair classic films with thematically linked wine tastings to create unique evenings in the stunning setting of Averys Wine Merchants’ historic wine cellar. Following a sparkling wine reception, the film will be accompanied by a tasting of four carefully selected wines courtesy of Averys’ resident experts, guiding you through them at stages during the film.

We’re hosting a trio of romantic Vintage Screenings in the run-up to Valentine’s Day 2026, concluding with the ultimate Valentine’s/Galentine’s movie, Bridget Jones’s Diary, on the day itself. With the film turning 25 and the original novel turning 30, it’s a double milestone to celebrate as we navigate a tumultuous life in the year of Bridget, in this hilarious feel-good romcom (and loving Jane Austen pastiche!), paired with some wines inspired by the film (including a Chardonnay, naturally…).

Take your evening further with our add-on options:

  • Enjoy a pre-screening wine tasting session as you learn more about wine tasting over a glass

  • Indulge with a delicious L'Affinage Du Fromage deli box, with cheeses, chutney and crackers to enjoy alongside your film and wine

Please note that Vintage Screenings are strictly for over-18s only
