AMÉLIE at Averys Wine Cellars

  • Averys Wine Merchants 9 Culver Street Bristol, England, BS1 5LD United Kingdom (map)
Twenty years on, the quirky romantic comedy is as iconic and timely as ever [...] The magic of Amélie Poulain continues to work in mysterious ways
— Hannah Strong (BBC)

DOORS: 18:45 | FILM STARTS 19:00

Vintage Screenings pair classic films with thematically linked wine tastings to create unique evenings in the stunning setting of Averys Wine Merchants’ historic wine cellar. Following a sparkling wine reception, the film will be accompanied by a tasting of four carefully selected wines courtesy of Averys’ resident experts, guiding you through them at stages during the film.

Due to massive demand on Valentine’s Day, we’ve added an extra screening Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s delightful romantic comedy Amélie this June. Led by a career-defining performance from Audrey Tautou, this film wowed international audiences and critics alike upon release and became one of French cinema’s all-time box office bestsellers. More than two decades since its release, it’s lost none of its charm and joie de vivre - and of course, we will be pairing it with some suitably splendid French wines!

Take your evening further with our add-on options:

  • Enjoy An Introduction To Wine Tasting before the main event as you learn more about wine tasting over a glass

  • Indulge with a delicious deli box from Native Vine, with cheeses, chutney and crackers to enjoy alongside your film and wine

Please note that Vintage Screenings are strictly for over-18s only

About The Film

2001 | 15 | 117 mins

Amélie works in a Parisian café, living an unassuming life until a chance event leads to her reuniting a long-lost possession with its owner. Inspired by this, Amélie embarks on a series of schemes to better the lives of those around her in her own inimitable manner - but can she overcome her own loneliness and find true happiness for herself along the way?

Native Vine Deli Box
