VINTAGE SCREENINGS

Friday 26th October | Doors: 19:00 | Film Start: 19:15 | Approx. End: 21:15

Our 2018 Vintage Screening season continues with a double bill ‘Vampire Weekend’ in the buildup to Halloween, including the hilarious mockumentary What We Do In The Shadows. Take your seats in Averys cellars, accompanied by a mouth-watering selection of wines picked by Averys resident experts – for this screening, we will be enjoying wines from New Zealand, in keeping with the film’s setting.

Guests enjoy sparkling wine on arrival, with bread and cheese courtesy of Arch House Deli to enjoy during the film, along with four carefully chosen wines that are served at points throughout the film (details announced soon).

These undead figures are struggling to cope with the complexities of modern life, but a new arrival in the form of a young, hipster vampire offers them the opportunity to engage with the 21st Century like never before.

THEY SAY: The best comedy of the year […] The rigour with which their hideous and crepuscular world is imagined, combined with the continuous flow of top-quality gags, makes this a treat from first to last. After a while, I was embarrassed at myself for giggling so much.” – Peter Bradshaw, The Guardian, 2014

WE SAY: A relentlessly funny mockumentary, packed full of classic vampire movie references and scene after scene of hysterical dialogue (most of which was improvised). Definitely not one to miss!
