Our 2018 Vintage Screening season continues with the courtroom drama masterpiece Twelve Angry Men, kindly sponsored by Cook & Co Solicitors. Take your seats in Averys cellars, accompanied by a mouth-watering selection of wines picked by Averys resident experts – for this screening, we will be matching wines to some of the film’s key characters, with an audience “verdict” at the end of the evening…
Guests enjoy sparkling wine on arrival, with bread and cheese courtesy of Arch House Deli to enjoy during the film, along with four carefully chosen wines that are served at points throughout the film (details announced soon).
Please make sure that you have read the guidelines contained in the Important Information tab above before booking your tickets. Please note the earlier start time than previous Vintage Screenings.
Cook & Co Solicitors was founded in 2008 by Charles Cook and Vicki Neath. The original vision for the firm was to offer the Bristol market place a forward thinking boutique Legal Practice. Ten years later and the firm are still proud to offer this approach. Cook & Co place a strong focus on offering both businesses and individual clients a direct access to the best in class Solicitors in Bristol alongside an attentive Client Service with a transparent fixed fee approach.
After the closing arguments in a contentious murder trial, the twelve jurors convene to deliberate – but one amongst them casts doubt on the guilt of the suspect, who faces the death penalty if convicted. As the men struggle to reach a unanimous decision, personal disputes and character clashes threaten to derail the due legal process as the suspect’s life hangs in the balance.

THEY SAY: “In the 60 years since its release, Sidney Lumet’s masterpiece has lost none of its impact. In this age of unreason, Twelve Angry Men remains sorely and urgently contemporary.” – Christopher Machell, CineVue, 2017
WE SAY: Never mind over-the-top explosions and never-ending car chases – Twelve Angry Men takes place almost exclusively in one room, and yet its razor sharp script and stellar ensemble performance ranks it among the most heart-pounding movies of all time. A taut, intelligent thriller that has only improved with age.
