After the closing arguments in a contentious murder trial, the twelve jurors convene to deliberate – but one amongst them casts doubt on the guilt of the suspect, who faces the death penalty if convicted. As the men struggle to reach a unanimous decision, personal disputes and character clashes threaten to derail the due legal process as the suspect’s life hangs in the balance.

Screenplay: Reginald Rose

THEY SAY: In the 60 years since its release, Sidney Lumet’s masterpiece has lost none of its impact. In this age of unreason, Twelve Angry Men remains sorely and urgently contemporary.” – Christopher Machell, CineVue, 2017

WE SAY: Never mind over-the-top explosions and never-ending car chases – Twelve Angry Men takes place almost exclusively in one room, and yet its razor sharp script and stellar ensemble performance ranks it among the most heart-pounding movies of all time. A taut, intelligent thriller that has only improved with age.
