Join Bristol Film Festival for an evening of classic comedy, delicious local beer and big hairdos at the latest Beyond Popcorn screening of This Is Spinal Tap, in partnership with Wickwar Wessex Brewing.
The screening takes place in the atmospheric setting of the former fire station on Silver Street, where guests will enjoy a flight of four of Wickwar’s flagship ales (and some bar snacks) to drink along with the movie. The Wickwar team will be onsite as well, with the brewers talking you through the beers they’ve crafted. It’s an opportunity to experience this hilarious cult favourite on the big screen once more, with quality beer to accompany it – dust off your leather jacket, stock up on hairspray and practice your devil horns, because the best-dressed (as decided by the staff) will win a little something extra…!
Ticket price includes four half-pints of Wickwar ales – B.O.B, Falling Star, Cotswold Way and a seasonal selection (TBC).
Please make sure that you have read the guidelines contained in the Important Information tab above before booking your tickets.
This spoof “rockumentary” follows the fictional rock band Spinal Tap as they embark on a disastrous US concert tour to promote their new album “Smell The Glove”. Their attempt at a glorious American revival is blighted by malfunctioning stage equipment, manipulative girlfriends and clashes over album artwork designs, not to mention the dysfunctional relationships between the bandmates themselves.

THEY SAY: “One of the funniest, most intelligent, most original films of the year. The satire has a deft, wicked touch.” Roger Ebert, 1984
WE SAY: There are plenty of quotable films, but few coin phrases – going up to 11 – that enter pop culture vernacular. Spinal Tap is as funny as ever and a brilliant skewer of the hedonistic state of heavy rock by the early 80s. Dress in homage to this era to be in with a chance of winning yourself some extra Wickwar Brewing goodies…
