The Pink Panther: Vintage Screening

Saturday 14th March 2020 | Doors: 18:45 | Film Start: 19:00 | Approximate End: 21:30

Vintage Screenings combine fantastic films with themed wine tastings in Averys Wine Merchants’ wine cellars. Step into this historic space beneath Park Street for a glass of arrival bubbly, bread and cheese, then take your seats and enjoy a film accompanied by a mouth-watering selection of wines picked by Averys resident experts.

Our March double bill concludes with the original version of the beloved crime caper, The Pink Panther. We’ll be accompanying the film with French wines to celebrate that most hapless of detectives, Inspector Jacques Clouseau!

We are delighted to be working with the incredible FLOWERS & THORN, a Bristol-based independent chocolatier. Pre-order a beautiful box of their handmade Rose and Dark Chocolate Hearts below for a perfect Valentine’s Day treat! Each box contains 4 artisan hearts, made with 70% dark Ecuadorian chocolate and a touch of Persian rose essence.

THEY SAY: “Quite apart from the general air of bubbling elegance, [The Pink Panther] is intensely funny” – Variety, 1964

WE SAY:  It spawned a dozen films, animated TV series, Christmas specials and even video games – and of course that theme tune… Peter Sellers is the real thief here, stealing the limelight whenever he’s onscreen, but that’s not to say that his fellow cast are bereft of wickedly funny one-liners and mishaps themselves.
