The Holiday

Christmas At The Museum

Wednesday 19th December | Doors: 20:30 | Film Start: 20:50 | Approx. End: 23:00

We’re returning to Bristol Museum & Art Gallery this Christmas for an evening of feel-good favourites for the festive season. Enter the museum after hours, be enchanted by live performers, and prepare to be drawn into the magic like never before in the incredible setting of the main hall.

Our second screening this Christmas is the festive-themed rom-com The Holiday.

The Holiday

2006 | 12A | 130 mins

Two unlucky-in-love women, English Iris (Kate Winslet) and American Amanda (Cameron Diaz) swap homes for the Christmas period. As the two women adapt to very different environments, they meet two local men – played by Jude Law and Jack Black – who are perfect for restoring their faith in romance.

Starring: Kate Winslet | Cameron Diaz | Jack Black | Jude Law

Director: Nancy Meyers

Screenplay: Nancy Meyers

Producer: Nancy Meyers | Bruce A. Block

THEY SAY: “A rare chick flick/romantic comedy that, despite its overt sentimentality and fairy-tale premise, doesn’t feel cloyingly sweet […] much of the credit goes to inspired casting and the actors’ chemistry.” – Claudia Puig, USA Today, 2006

WE SAY: A Christmas-set rom-com featuring Hollywood A-listers, Jack Black as a romantic lead and set in Surrey? This refreshingly quirky movie, from the writer/director of Something’s Gotta Give, is a charming tale with great performances from its four stars that will thaw the hearts of even the cynical.
