The Snowman / The Snowman & The Snowdog

1982/2012 | U | 60 mins total

On a winter’s day, a young boy builds a snowman in his garden. That night, the snowman comes to life, and takes the boy on a magical adventure to the North Pole. In the 30th anniversary sequel, the Snowman returns, bringing with him a Snowdog for a boy who has recently lost his beloved pet.

Starring: David Bowie

Director: Dianne Jackson

Screenplay: Based on the book by Raymond Briggs

Producer: John Coates

THEY SAY: “The Snowman taps into the magical spirit of Christmas, and now seems almost as much a part of the season as sherry and mince pies. Alongside Aardman’s Wallace & Gromit series, it is probably the most successful British example of family-oriented animation.” – Victor Opeyokun, BFI

WE SAY: This enchanting piece of animation and its recent sequel has delighted multiple generations, and we’re thrilled to be presenting them back to back as a double bill just in time for Christmas! And yes, that really is David Bowie introducing the original…
