Raiders of the Lost Ark

NIGHTS AT THE MUSEUM

Friday 1st March 2019 | Doors: 21:30 | Film Start: 22:00 | Approx. End: 00:00

We’re returning to Bristol Museum & Art Gallery this Spring for an evening of historical thrills and spills. Enter the museum after hours, enjoy live performers – including our very own velociraptor – and explore a selection of the Museum’s incredible exhibitions, including the ever-popular Egypt Gallery.

Our second screening this March sees Harrison Ford in his first outing as Indiana Jones in Raiders of the Lost Ark – one of the great American adventure movies.

RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK

1981 | PG | 115 mins

Harrison Ford’s first outing as intrepid archaeologist Indiana Jones sees him searching for the mythical Ark Of The Covenant in a race against the Nazis. Matters are complicated when he crosses paths with an ex-lover – and despite his skepticism, is there truth to the rumours about the Ark’s preternatural powers…?

STARRING: Harrison Ford | Karen Allen | Paul Freeman | Ronald Lacey | John Rhys-Davies

DIRECTED: Steven Spielberg

WRITTEN: Lawrence Kasdan

PRODUCED: Frank Marshall

THEY SAY: “One of the most deliriously funny, ingenious and stylish American adventure movies ever made […] A movie that evokes memories of movie-going of an earlier era but that possesses its own, far more rare sensibility.” – Vincent Canby, New York Times, 1981

WE SAY: One of the greatest movies of all time – and don’t just take our word for it, look at the number of movie polls, critic and audience vote alike, that rank it among the very best. It is full of energy, humour, thrills and chills – oh, and more than a few snakes.
