Henry Jekyll is a doctor and philanthropist, who after a dinner conversation one night, begins to experiment dangerously with the nature of man. His intention is to find a way of housing the two sides of man’s nature – the good and the evil – in two separate bodies. He creates his alter-ego, Mr. Hyde, and begins a double life, hiding his evil doppelgänger from those around him.
