Bristol Film Festival is delighted to be hosting two screenings for the Clifton College community as part of our Spring 2020 season!
On 27th February we’ll be bringing the interior workings of Runway magazine to the Newbolt Room for an intimate screening of The Devil Wears Prada. There’s welcome prosecco on arrival, along with a complimentary chocolate gift from local chocolatier Flowers & Thorn (who will also have a concession stall), as well as an interval to top up drinks and catch up on the latest rumours about the world’s most terrifying boss, Miranda Priestley…
Your ticket includes:
Aspiring journalist Andy lands a job as an assistant to the fearsome Miranda Priestley, editor-in-chief of Runway magazine. Although she knows the job is the opportunity of a lifetime, keeping up with Miranda’s excessive demands proves challenging. Can Andy make it through a year in the role, and prove to be a match for Miranda?
THEY SAY: “The humour is as spiky as a pair of Manolo Blahniks yet The Devil Wears Prada isn’t just a satire on the fashion industry […] Helmer David Frankel brings believable warmth to Lauren Weisberger’s scathing book. Still, the real joy is in a smoulderingly sinister turn by Meryl Streep as Andy’s egomaniacal boss.” – BBC, 2006
WE SAY: Wickedly funny and unflinching in its exposé of the fashion world, The Devil Wears Prada not only boosted the careers of both Emily Blunt and Anne Hathaway, but also earned Meryl Streep her 14th Oscar nomination for acting – furthering her own record!
