Close-Up: On Location
Between now and the launch of our Spring series in March, we will be posting a series of ‘close-ups’ on our various series. Bristol Film Festival runs 10 key series throughout the year, which cover a range of differently themed film events. Next up, the ‘On Location’ series.
‘On Location’ is the series that brings film screenings to relevant, unusual locations around Bristol. Audiences at our first festival in March 2016 may remember Night At The Museum in Bristol Museum at night, and since then the series has grown, with events including Master and Commander on the ss Great Britain, Jumanji at Bristol Museum and a mini-series of spooky movies at Arnos Vale, including Coraline and The Addams Family.
In December 2017 we were delighted to work with Hype Agency to host a New York-themed Christmas pop-up. Elf proved to be a big hit, and watching the movie surrounded by a New York cityscape made for a fantastic start to the Christmas period.
This year, we’re delighted to be working with new venues for the ‘On Location’ series. The old police cells at the Island will be home to four very different films themed around police, prison and crime, including Hot Fuzz, and The Shawshank Redemption.
Tickets usually range between £10-£15. Find out more and purchase tickets by checking out the ‘Vintage Screenings’ tag on our event calendar.
